This is part of Mindstream’s participation in the Wellness Moonshot, an awareness campaign for a world free of preventable disease that’s led by The Global Wellness Institute. Here’s our package for October 2020.

How can we move with intention? How can we reframe our actions more meaningfully?

This month’s theme goes beyond physical activity for physical health to ask us to be aware of the intention behind our movement.

Renee Moorefield, Ph.D., has captured this novel approach in her monthly story on the official Wellness Moonshot page on GlobalWellnessInstitute.org. She points to research that shows that we exhibit body language that speaks volumes about our primal emotions. “Groundbreaking global research shows that 70 to 80 percent of leaders lead reactively … we knowingly and unknowingly take actions that ultimately bolster our identity, defend our ego, and keep us safe, rather than challenge, adapt and grow as individuals,” Moorefield writes. “And we frequently move from our inner biases, rather than question if our biases are accurate and up-to-date.”

Awareness is a great first step, and it’s all part of boosting our wellness.
